Bohemian Bakery Cafe is in the heart of SALT district - an alternative central district of Christchurch attracting businesses and customers that like the grittiness & creativity that have flourished here after the city rebuild.

Saturday brunch


Saturdays 10am - 2pm, musicians play their tunes and you can you the warmth of our kitchen or relax outside in our garden, Enjoy your brunch and don't forget to take a loaf home for later.

We are proud to offer a wholesome menu and cabinet food that is prepared fresh from scratch using our baked goods and seasonal produce from Riverside market.

Our eggs come from free range Thulani farm and are delivered twice a week. Ham and bacon are from free ranged Freedom farms.

We are happy to customize your order to your dietary requirements, our chefs are professionals with thorough ingredients and preparation knowledge.

We either get the best products from the local suppliers or make our own; our in-house brewed French hot chocolate, Turmeric and Chai lattes are loved by our staff and customers alike.

This is where we make our pastries, pies, cakes and desserts which are then distributed to the other branches and to our wholesale customers.

Mezzanine overlooks the bakery area and downstairs seating is directly by the bakery and all the action.

Need a little help ?

Customers often complain that their starter never came to life. Our bakers can  send you home with a little living parcel to start you on your sourdough journey, we always home some spare.

Fresh yeast is also available to fellow bakers free of charge.

Our trusted flour is on the counter in 2kg packages to give you the best chance to succeed. 

We love discussing all things baking:  what flour we use , how we feed our starter, what way the croissants are folded, just ask and we are happy to chat.
